Boy Genius Rumor: Up to 25% off Macs, 30% off iPods for Black Friday

Boy Genius Report says that they have found Apple's Black Friday sales. They calim nearly phenominal discounts on everything including:
25% of Macs
30% of iPods
15% off nearly everything else!

So what would you buy if this were true?
I would buy
2.66 i5 iMac
iPod nano
and maybe a macbook (for my sis).
How about you/.

It might be true, "up to" could translate to $101 off of a Mac Pro.

Up to 25% off

They could have 25% off a Mac Pro and 2% off everything else.

(non descriptive thread title, by the way)

25% off a mac...I don't think so (unless it were a refurb). That's like bigger than any discount (employee and dev accounts).

EDIT: funny how they added the '* not available on iPhone or Shuffle' part, 0% is still part of 'up to 30%'

IF THIS IS TRUE! I WANT THIS SALE IN AUSTRALIA! I'm gonna get me a couple of iMacs.

Well I will be buying a 27" iMac, so this only make it a better deal.

Yes I would buy a new iMac in a heartbeat. But there's not going to be 25% off anything but maybe an apple remote. ~$100 on macs - count on it.

Apple’s Black Friday deals leaked?

What you see detailed above is a shot of Apple’s yearly Black Friday deals. It’s reported to be something Apple will email out shortly. This time around, it looks as if Apple will be offering up to 30% off on all iPods (Update: excluding iPhone and iPod shuffle, sorry), up to 25% off Macs, and up to 15% off all accessories as well as Apple software and hardware. The deal is only good for the day of November 27th and if that’s not good enough, “select” Apple stores will open at 6AM. This is unconfirmed but it doesn’t seem too unrealistic.

Is black Friday applicable to the UK?

I call BS on this.

The key part is that the alleged offer will allegedly be sent out by alleged email within a matter of days.

That is a great way to bring Apple's business to a screeching halt until the 27th. They are not that stupid. Conclusion: at least that part is bogus.

It's obvious that the flier isn't real; this thread was intended to be a "what if" scenario. That said, even 25% wouldn't be enough to convince me that this Mac Pro needs a partner

If this were true, I'd buy an i5 iMac and a base Macbook, then sell off the Macbook in favor of a MBP 12-18 months from now... instead of skipping the iMac and just buying a MBP in the spring like I've been planning.

it is likely the '25% off' refers to the the top of line.

Like I said, it is blatantly obvious that the ad is fake. That faded picture of the Apple logo has been floating around the interwebs for years, I even had it as my phone background a while back. Apple PR never uses Google image search content in the making of ads:

Will it apply to online orders?

Assuming that I could get 25% off a MacPro on Black Friday, does anyone think that it will apply to online orders? The MacPro is very customizable (is that a word?) and if I order one I will need to customize mine. Therefore, it would need to be ordered online or over the phone with an Apple Rep. So doe anyone think or have knowledge that the 25% off could be obtained over the phone or online? Thanks!

Black Friday 25% of Macs??!

I just came back from my local Apple store and picked up a 27" i5. On the way home (read rss feed at red lights) I see this: http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/...-deals-leaked/

If this is true, am I screwed? Would apple ever give that discount to someone who just bought an iMac within 14 days of a sale?

Should I open the i5 and enjoy, or wait the 12 days in hopes of getting a store credit or return and re-buy with discount?
