I would assume the fat is used in tests… and not as an actual ingredient in the cosmetics?
'Cause I don't think anyone is "worth it" that much…

Four people have been arrested in Peru on suspicion of killing dozens of people in order to sell their fat and tissue for cosmetic uses in Europe.
The gang allegedly targeted people on remote roads, luring them with fake job offers before extracting their fat to sell it for $15,000 (£9,000) a litre.
Other suspected gang members, including two Italian nationals, remain at large.
Police said the gang could be behind the disappearances of up to 60 people in the region.
At a news conference in the capital, police showed reporters two bottles containing human body fat and images of one of the alleged victims.
One of the alleged killings is reported to have taken place in mid-September, with the person's body tissue removed for sale.
Cmdr Angel Toledo told Reuters some of the suspects had "declared and stated how they murdered people with the aim being to extract their fat in rudimentary labs and sell it".
Police said they suspect the fat was sold to cosmetics and pharmaceutical companies in Europe, but have not confirmed any such connection.

Geez, you just never know these days. It sounds like they are using human tissue as actual ingredients. On the BBC just this morning, in fact, they were talking about the Korean FDA's move to ban "stem cell cosmetics". That's right... stem cells will keep you looking young! Reminds me of the early part of the 20th century when people did all kinds of crazy things with radiation, including... using thorium and radium in cosmetics!

Processed human fat is worth $15,000 a litre? In America we have whole cities of people worth their weight in gold then. Wouldn't it have been easier to set up a liposuction clinic in America and get rich that way?

Hmmm, maybe just buy it from places that do that, like diesel fuel people who go around gathering up used fry oil. That way you don't need any difficult and expensive medical training and annoying license requirements.

But, maybe the people who are captured in remote areas are considered organic or free range and are therefore worth more.
