Local Man Selling Original Apple Computer the A-1

ROSEVILLE, CA- It's been called the Holy Grail of vintage computers and a local man has one for sale.

But Jesse Sackman knows it's also a collectors item and he wants $50,000 dollars for his model on Ebay.

"It's a museum piece and in demand all over the world," said Sackman.

Sackman says he's selling his Apple-1 with its original packing for financial reasons.

"I hate that I have to, it's very hard for me," said Sackman.

The computer even comes with a typed letter from Steve Jobs to the original buyer of the Apple-1 who wanted his money back because it didn't come with a keyboard or monitor. In the letter, Jobs explains to the buyer how to connect it.

Ebay bidding ends Sunday. So far there are no online bids on the computer.

because we are in a recession and collecting for the sake of collecting doesn't seem to be on people's minds.

I don't think he'll get that much in today's Economy...

Maybe around $10K.... unless he wants to wait another 15 years or so...

Well, somebody placed the starting bid of USD$50K.

To have such disposable income....

Some fool just paid $420,000 for a single glove, so $50,000 an old circuit board doesn't seem too bad.
