I still don't owned an iPhone.
I have 4 Macs in my house. Two iPods Nano, One iPod Touch and one cheap Netbook. I need a high end and advance smartphone so I got myself an Android Device. (WHAAAAAT?) yes, I'm one of the few people in the world that is not happy with the iPhone. (and you like the ANDROID *cuff*UGLY*cuff* phone???) GUI? not. Functionality? Yes. Android is evolving everyday. iPhone? copy and paste after 4 years??? they know iPhone it's cute and advance, that's why it's not evolving. Even the ATT carrier is not working for extra features that the iPhone already is ready to do.
I'm waiting for a "final with more freedom iPhone". Android let me do more that's why I'm with it. but I'll loved if iPhone fill my needs right now. Do you owned one yet? not? why?

All we have are PC's in our house, but I love my iPhone. I've had many iPods, etc before but I wanted an all in one device. I don't care about jailbreaking, I don't see the need for it anymore. My iPhone does everything I need it to do. iPod, text, games/apps, internet and maps for when I get lost out on the road...I very rarely use the phone part. The iPhone fits all my needs, sorry it doesn't fit yours.

I own 4 Macs, I have many iPods and Apple products in my house. I was ready to get a new phone and I compared the iPhone and it's plan with the HTC Hero on Sprint. I chose the Hero for various reasons. I like Android, beautiful iPhone beating interface (in my opinion). My choosing factor for the Hero was the iPhone is just too normal and regular now. I also chose the Hero because of the limitless possibilities of customisation the iPhone doesn't have without jailbreaking. The iPhone has great hardware, but the operating system needs improvements in many ways. 2010 will be the year of Android.

Purchased an iPhone 3GS a couple of months ago.
Like and enjoy using it.

![]() I love everything high-tech. I am definitely a geek. But I have always had a basic phone because I don't like to show off. And at least I am not afraid to loose or break this one.

personally I don't want an iPhone because it seems everybody else has one or will have one soon
and that's precisely why I own a MacBook Air, the most unpopular (but most awesome) apple notebook and nobody in a 5-mile radius has one !!! ![]()

Does that mean you will get a different computer? Anyhow, never understood this line of reasoning. To each his own.

thats pretty much how I see it - the price of Mac, along with other things like quality and software, is about being different and thinking differently
![]() but the iPhone price (without a contract anyway) doesnt make you feel different or unique, which is the opposite feeling from the mac feeling special about your tech, one of the ideas apple knows how to use. Quote:

I don't have one either.
I do have several macs, iPods etc, but I really don't need an iPhone. I do have a Nokia ExpressMusic 5xxx something, and I has 8GB storage for music and I use the phone for calling 99% of the time, nothing else, since I always carry around my MBP. I think I've used mobile web three times this year or so, so I can't really justify spending money on a iPhone, not that I'd like one tho.

One other reason I haven't gotten a smartphone yet is that I'm wary of the "do everything" phones. It just seems to me that devices that try to do everything end up not being good at anything. I also only have a cell phone, and I need my phone to be a good phone first. Anything else it does is just a bonus. I'm also a klutz, and I tend to be rough on my phones. I have dropped my old Motorola clunker many times, and it still works great and has great reception. The same is true with my clunker Blackberry at work. |

Let's see, iPhone has only been on the market for a little over 2 years, where did you get your 4 years?
Of course with Android, you can have the - freedom to get unpolished apps - freedom to tinker with the device instead of using it - freedom of having no security in place - freedom of only having 256MB of apps (instead of up to the storage limit of around 32gb on iPhone and 64gb on iPod touch) - freedom of inability to upgrade your phone os (note android v1 phones cannot upgrade to android v2) http://www.roughlydrafted.com/2009/1...tware-markets/ How come iPhone is rated the best consumer AND business smart phone? |

On the contrary, the pleasurable experience the iPhone offered is what drove me to buy a Mac.

I don't understand why anyone who uses an iPod would NOT want to consolidate this into their phone and use just one device... unless your company has forced a phone on you.
If you carry an iPod and willing use an Android phone as well, there's something wrong with you!

I had the first gen one… didn't like it. When 3G came out there was no reason to go with it. Then I went on a long trip and lost my Blackberry; I had a spare SIM card with me and so I bought an iPhone—I figured why not… if everyone loves it, it's popular for a reason! Anyways, I love the iPhone… though I would probably go back to Symbian the next time around.
