buring mac os x tiger .dmg files to boot ibook g4

i have a file my friend gave me that has tiger in 4 diffrent disc files. when i open each file they are in .dmg files when i burned the first .dmg file to a cd and tried booting my ibook g4 off of it by holding c at the start up but it wont work. so i tried buring all 4 .dmg files to the same disc and tryed booting off of that and that didnt work either. all that comes up is:

radeonfb 0000:00:10.0: Invalid ROM contents

HELP!

Your friend cannot legally give you any version of OSX: go buy a retail copy on eBay

but if i do buy a retail copy will it boot perfectly and wont give me a:

radeonfb 0000:00:10.0: Invalid ROM contents

like with the other content?
