No More Airport After Update & More.

1. OK, so I made the jump from 10.3 (Jaguar) to 10.4 (Tiger) via installation disk. After reboot, it won't pick up a Airport signal.

2. So I downloaded the 10.4.11 Combo update (from this MacBook I'm using) and ran it off a USB drive. It froze at "writing package receipt" so I restarted but won't completely boot.

After "Starting Mac OS X" I get a blue screen with a mouse cursor that endlessly appears and disappears followed by the spinning wheel.

Any ideas?
