Possibly the worst song by possibly the worst band ever. I avoid Fleetwood Mac more than any other music in existence.

"Go Your Own Way" is the only Fleetwood Mac song I like.

Yep, a good one.

And back when it came out, it was very timely in it's message.

Listening to it right now!

I disagree. It's because of Fleetwood Mac live that I have mildly worse hearing in my right ear, and mild tinnitus to, although it's very very very faint.

Rumours is one of my favourite albums though, Go Your Own Way is not my favourite song off the album, but it's still a great one...

£1.50 would have saved your ears. You can hardly blame this on Fleetwood Mac, it's a live gig. Although anybody who doesn't have very faint tinnitus probably hasn't lived.

Its not often that you get two creative couples at a musical zenith, in the midst of the raw emotions of a painful divorce and breakup (and a lot of coke). IIRC there was some cheating between Mick and Stevie. That must have turned the pain dial up to 11!
How the band was able to make music together in the midst of such an emotional malestrom is a testament to their professionalism. By putting the music first and still playing together, those intense feelings propelled the music to another level, creating an incredible album.
Those must have been some heated recording sessions and live performances! It's not hard to imagine the intensity and lyrics of Rumours may be of putting to some folks, who could easily pick up on the underlying discordant and painful relationships.

No I go to hundreds of gigs. This was in the NEC or NIA (can't remember which), and we were at least a few hundred feet away from them. I swear it was actually way above the legal limit. Honestly I've been to loud gigs, really loud gigs and it's not an issue for me (although I do wear ear plugs when I go into smaller venues). This was was way extreme. If I'd known it was going to be that loud, I would have taken full-blown ear defenders.

RE the album: It's amazing to think an album like this didn't end up with more anger behind it. It's not like it's lacking in grunt, but it's definitely got a smoothness about it their other albums didn't have...

I look for a very gifted producer for the ability to keep a high quality production moving ahead, in times of high interpersonal drama...but this has to be the most unlikely producer ever, at least from a technical point of view. Check out this story of the Rumours producer, Richard Dashut.

Even though not one of my favorite bands, I loved listening to their music. I was introduced to them because my older brother has a cassette tape of their greatest hits album a long time ago and I became to like it as I keep on playing it. Go On Your Own Way is a very nice unique song.

Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" album is the official theme album for this website.

"Go Your Own Way" is not the official song, however. That honor goes to Second Hand News from the same album.

Love this song, and the album even more. I remember (ahem) when this album came out....there was a record store at the mall that had the album jackets for the top 10 albums in the window. Rumours was there, in first place, week after week after week. A little google search just revealed that Rumours was on the album chart for a record 477 weeks in a row.

Hilarious. I applaud your wonderful use of the English language.

Perhaps I should keep it quiet that I don't like the Eagles either....

Very good, I like it. Always seen the connection with the album, but adding in the opening track, genius.

I like Tusk. The title track has some of Mick's best drumming as far as I'm concerned.
