Windows Why is my Macbook Retina graphic card running below 900mhz

What software do you use then to let you see the GPU MHZ?

The GT650M reference speed is from 735-900MHz.
Due to the kepler architecture you usually get dynamic clocks, going up and down after power available.

If you think you have issues many people say they are fixed by reseting the SMC.

I think you don't need to include the word Apple in that sentence any first generation product is liable to problems.

Sony Playstation 3 - initial version had excess power usage and heat
XBox 360 - Red ring of death was almost expected for first few years
Windows 8 - Nuff said really
Android - First few OS versions were almost unusable.

1.0 of any new hardware/software product will almost always not be as good as the following products in the same line.

To be honest, you only need 725MHz to reach the reference specs by NVidia.
Anything above 725MHz is considered bonus Apple do never advertise the speed on the GPU, so 794MHz is considered a good clock on a 650M, even tho some users get 900MHz.

Download nVidia System tools and then overclock the 650m with that to what you like.
Ive been using it to overclock the 330m in my 2010 15" by 20% for years now. Long gaming sessions and no problems.

My HD 7950 runs at 910 MHz, and that was overclocked and stock is 800 MHz.

I'd say it's normal, look up the stock clock speeds for the rMBP GPU.

You cannot compare like that. The 7950 is a very different card.
It has several times the cores and a much higher bandwidth (as well as TAUs and ROPs)..

A 7959 runninng at 200MHz would be faster than a 650M.

It's like comparing a dual core i3 with a six core i7. A 2Ghz six core will pretty much be faster at much lower speeds. And the i3 is much more like the i7 than a 650M is to a 7950.
