Value of 2011 iMac
I'm looking at getting a new iMac in the next month or so.
I've been waiting for the new iMacs like everyone else for a long time, however now I have an offer for a 2011 27" iMac with the 3.4 GHz core i7 processor and ATI Radeon 6970M 2GB and 16GB of RAM. The guy wants $1800 for it. Now my question is, I could get a brand new iMac for $2000 free shipping no tax as seen here. So should I wait for reviews of the new iMac to come in? Is the $1800 price something to jump on? The computer is still under warranty, so if something is wrong I can get it fixed. Performance-wise my main question is around the core i7 vs core i5 processor and the gtx vs radeon graphics cards. |

is $1800 shipped I would consider that a good offer, open to down it a bit, tough. Otherwise, I would pay $1600-1700 tops
About performance, maybe a google search shows some benchmarks between the i5 and the i7 and the radeon and the gtx for general/particular use ![]()

Thanks for the input!
The only other concern I have is the relative rarity of this computer. It's specced pretty much exactly like I would have specced it had I bought one new, but there are some on ebay. Also see what the reviews say about the new iMac, maybe apple has pulled some hidden power out of it by doing little unadvertised changes like they enjoy doing. |
