You are in denial, my opinion. Your love of guns is that strong. There is plenty of evidence that access to guns, carrying guns along with use of the magic phrase "feared for my life" results in more homicides than there otherwise would be.

Sarcasm quotes would be helpful.

1.I love them so much that I sold them all when times got hard
2. wait, YOU have guns, why are your's different? are they not "Real" guns?
3 then DON'T carry, you can claim "feared for my life" all you want, but as it has been with your taco bell link, a jury might not buy it and you will be someones BF in jail.

I updated the link and the guy walked (correct Taco Bell shooting) based on the magic phrase although the only physical contact was bullets hitting the victim. Me owning guns is besides the point. I'm discussing the law with you, but I recognize the circular nature our exchanges so I'll attempt to not throw more fuel on the fire as its a waste of energy.

I have no problems with the law, I do get that sometimes you are floored by what some get away with.

for example .

^^^^ this one looks justified.

both those cases happened at a persons home/camper. is the law perfect? no , never has been, never will be.

That's a very reasonable way to look at it.

But how do I reconcile that reasonableness with those moments when you say you won't support restrictions until we can guarantee that criminals will never break them?

How come you expect and require the law to be perfect in that case?

apples/oranges/pink balloons/blue diamonds.

criminals don't follow laws. they don't care, there are some "restrictions" that I have no problem with, like back ground checks, they actually make sense

Cognative dissonence

In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time, or is confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas, or values.
That's my theory, at least.

Sensitive. I need to remind myself to give you more positive reinforcement.

But I mostly wonder why you deny the validity of any comparison made in the gun debate. The normal response from you is "apples/oranges/pink balloons/blue diamonds."

I hope you realize that comparison is a very valid way to illustrate an issue ... unless that ol' cognitive dissonance prevents one from wanting to look at it.

And where is luvmymbp these days? He probably went back to Yahoo.com where he felt more at home.
