Here is a quick video that kinda shows my problem but not all the way. I was actually getting a decent signal here but most of the time I have a "o" where the "lte" or "3G" goes. |

Thanks for posting your experiences guys! And thank you iphonecase2011 fro continuing to be a great a trusted seller with exceptional customer service!
As far as signal loss, the best thing to do is to monitor your phone in field test mode and you can find out the precise decibel loss present. My feeling and based on my tests posted earlier in this thread that the signal loss is not significant as to be accurately measured or reproduced under normal circumstances, but I can see where phone companies cheaping out in their cell tower strength in certain areas can be cause for frustration. Now we need to get iphonecase2011 over to some of them cell phone companies and give them a lesson in customer service

Received my plastic replacement. So what I did was use the back plastic piece along with the metal front original piece. I tried the front plastic piece but the front bowed in the middle of each space between the 6 screws due to weak plastic construction or something. Also when you tighten down the front plastic part since the case bowed it caused the glass to separate from the case due to weak glue and to much pressure i guess which made the bottom area of screen unresponsive .Anyway the plastic in back and metal in front makes a huge difference. Now I have perfect signal. So anyone planning on buying this case I recommend the same setup as mine.

I received mine and its great. I received the white metal case. Weight is good- makes it feel like I am holding something.
I did notice the rainbow effect with the glass. I went and got a screen protector to see if it helps. I'm waiting for it to fully dry - I got the Zagg HD invisible shield. Signal loss is not present on my phone - I use the CDMA world version with Sprint. Are you guys that are experiencing loss of signal using GSM? |

fyi the invisible shield most likely wont help. it is a permeable material and will not help in the way a standard antiglare would. just letting you know

I just found that out - it looks like water. I will just request a free replacement for it and use it in another phone.

I encourage people who have questions or experiences with the issue of potential signal loss to put their phone in field test mode and do actual comparisons in a very controlled setting like I did in the onset of this thread. We must always be governed by scientific reasoning and definitive proof and not conjecture, otherwise our sharing of experiences will simply devolve into nothing more than anecdotal hearsay. I have posted my findings earlier in this thread documenting the exact location of the phone with 10 second intervals in varying combinations of case and phone. I feel its important for the information of those who may want to find a definitive answer to this question top see actual decibel readings in a controlled scenario. You also have to realize that when loading webpages you're dependent on the servers time which can vary and also whether or not the phone is reading from predownloaded temp files of the site or is trying to load it fresh. Basically I want to see as much data compiled as possible here, but you have to use controlled settings and decibel readings and numbers or the test really doesnt mean anything. So hopefully that helps in your testing and posting results.
As far as the screen protector I too have hear that the antiglare protectors are the ones to use if trying to avoid any rainbow. This winter ive gotten the odd rainbow blotch but since the nice weather its been perfect. I think it has something to do with humidity levels as well and obviously the frame fitment as you brought out with the plastic models which tend to warp slightly upon being tightened. And glad to hear your enjoying the white model thronka, post up pics ! |

I have no clue what field test mode is. I have been very happy with the sellers customer service and have given him praise in here. So I wouldn't knock his product without having a legit issue. My phone flat out does not work right at my work with this case on. It may not effect anyone else in the world iPhone but mine is useless at my workplace with the case on. Take it off and it starts working fine. |

Not saying your knocking it without good reason. On the contrary, it has always been my intention to provide the greatest number of facts to allow for others to see exactly what is going on before they put down hard earned money for a product. I am as curious to see findings as anyone, Im merely encouraging a scientific process so we as a community can isolate and define possible problems and issues.
Is it carrier specific? Is it weather dependent? is it a faulty phone etc etc. You see its all very helpful and informative if when we test things out we can do so with some frame of reference if at all possible. Thats all Im trying to encourage; So we can help gather information and in doing so help others. A quick search of google these days will provide instructions on how to do just about everything http://www.geekwithenvy.com/2013/04/...eld-test-mode/ I realize not everyone has the time for an indepth review, but if the opportunity presents itself, scientific process is always of benefit. |
