I own a few Samsung TV sets and have been watching the evolution of their "Smart TV Hub" closely. The TV's run apps, do auto-updates, etc. Not that bad for a TV set actually. Fully integrated Netflix, Hulu, MediaShare devices etc.

I think its possible for Samsung to use their own ecosystem of components (TV's, laptops, handsets, etc.) to unify the user experience. Unfortunately for them....these devices don't share the same OS components. Even though Apple OSX and iOS are different OS's, the company at least has iTunes as middleware (of sorts) to unify things. Samsung will need to do something similar to unify their devices.

Acquiring DropBox may be a starting point.....
