Router for Verizon FIOS

I'm presently using an Actiontec 2nd generation that Verizon supplied. I understand there's a faster one, a 3rd generation, but Verizon will only sell that to existing customers for about $160. Am I okay with what I have or is there something significantly better?

Do a speed test.

See if that matches with the speed you are supposed to be getting.
