Hi Guys,

I am after your expert advice.

I am currently setting up a Mac It Suite for my secondary school.

New Mini Mac Server 2TB + 25 new iMacs.

There will be about 200 user accounts but they will be limited to 1 Gb per user.

So what sort of backup should I use.... where should the users store their files.

1. DAS external USB 3 (a couple of 4TB drives) (use CCC to copy one drive to the other.)
2. A 4 bay NAS using RAID 1 (synology etc)
3. Thunderbolt drive.

Any advice would be great

Cheers

I use CCC for almost everything and it's never failed.
Usually LaCie external drives connected to my servers if I want more than the 2 or three in the XServes, then Retrospect to a remote Mac with 4TB Drobo's in alternating saves. Good rule to follow: One backup is not enough. Three is my minimum.
