A good illustration of how the screen-hogging OS X interface may be great for selling bigger and bigger displays, but would make no sense on a tiny display. On a PDA, every pixel counts... no room for brushed metal.

Haha the specs on the bottom are a little pitiful by today's standards. It's amazing how far we have come.

Slightly off topic, but what typeface did Apple use in the late 90's-early 2000's, such as the one in that old iPad mockup in the OP?
