Looking to buy of CL or Kijiji and need advice

I'm looking to buy a MBP Rentina base model off of Kijiji and was wondering if anyone had any tips or things to steer clear from? It's new and sealed in the box still. Would I have issues getting the extended AppleCare? Is there a way to check if it's stolen or not? Any help would be appreciated!

My plan was to meet and open the box and run the machine before handing over the cash to ensure everything is kosher. It's being sold for $1900 and when you consider taxes and everything, that's a good price...

Thx

Why not just meet in/near an apple store so you can add the warranty right then and there? It also lets you know if the product is stolen or not of which if it was stolen you wouldn't be able to add warranty....
