Intel HD4000 Showing 384MB of Memory instead of 512MB?
So, Installing 8GB of ram increases the amount of memory on board graphics uses from 384mb to 512mb. Though, my intel graphics are only reporting using 384mb in "About My Mac". Showed 512mb before. Any idea why?

I think this is the result of the latest update to Mountain Lion.
I have a 2012 macbook pro with 10GB of RAM, 1X2GB and 1X8GB sticks. Before the update, 512MB was allocated to the HD4000. However, after the latest graphic patch (the one over 100MB), the allocated RAM for the HD4000 went down to 384MB. It would be interesting to see the RAM allocation of the HD4000 from someone with 16GB of RAM. |

I'm showing 512 in my mid 2012 13" Macbook Pro with 16GB Ram.
EDIT: I guess I should mention that I have also installed the latest update that generated most of these issues or people. |

384MB on my cMBP 15" 8GB. That is really odd. Doesn't really matter to me since I have the discrete fallback card, but still odd.

The VRAM allocation going down to 384MB is only on the 15" cMBP and it affects everyone regardless of the RAM
