CC Charge for new iMac

My new 27 imac says "Delivers Jan 2 - Jan 8 via Standard Shipping". Do you think, based on this, that it will ship before the new year and more importantly will i be charged before the new year? I need the charge to go through before Jan 1st.

If the estimated delivery date is Jan 2 at the earliest then it stands to reason the charge will go through prior to that, i.e., when it actually ships.

They will pre-authorize but not charge until shipped. Why can't you be charged after the new year?

probably for some credit card rewards system purposes

It's probably a crap shoot whether it'll get charged before jan 1st. Mine has already shipped and I still haven't been charged.
