Apple TV 3rd gen through imac 2012 21.5

Hi wanting to run my Apple TV though my new 21.5 2012 imac, do I need a cable to do so, as the imac does not have a hdmi cable thanks dan

No, Apple TV doesn't have thunderbolt output.

Why would you want to?

You might be able to do it with an HDMI-Mini Display Port converter, but I'm not sure.

Sadly no. Otherwise we could hook up our xboxes.
