Just wondering if anyone knows the answer for my question. I want to purchase a mac mini. the new mac mini came out not too long ago. the lowest specs is i5 2.5Ghz with turbo boost, 4gb ram, 500gb hard disk (2012 model). they also have another older model there (2011 July). it has i5 2.3Ghz but it does not say in the package that it has turbo boost or not. it has 2gb ram and 500gb hard disk also. i mainly use it for home video editing. i would upgrade it to 16gb ram if possible. i know the i5 2.5Ghz model would be able to upgrade to 16gb ram no problem. i asked the sales rep in the shop. they cannot tell me that the i5 2.3Ghz would be able to upgrade to 16 gb ram or not. also, they cannot tell me if the i5 2.3Ghz has turbo boost or not either. i searched on the web for abit and couldnt find about the ram upgrade and turbo boost for i5 2.3Ghz. so would anyone know anything about the mac mini model for 2012 july edition? please advise. Thx alot!!!!!!

The specific chip is an I5-2415M and it boosts to 2.9
Intel say 8gb ram max. But it does run 16gb without an issue
It does not say in the box if the chip is i5-2415m or not. It only say i5 2.3Ghz Or you saying that the i5-2.5Ghz is 2415m???? Thx for your reply
I checked the i5-2.5Ghz box. it mentioned on the package that it has turbo boost but i5-2.3Ghz does not mention that on the package box. does it mean apple osx in that version does not support turbo boost even it is i5-2415m??? Thx again
You can refer to the spec on Apple Official Website, Apple OSX does support Turbo Boosting and Hyper Treading.
Hoesntly don't expect much from 2415M, I had an old MBP running on that, and that CPU was just slow.
