Reset auto brightness behavior?

How would I reset the autobrightness behavior of my 2012 Macbook Air to factory settings? It seems to stay pretty bright at low light and not get bright enough when its sunny. I know I can manually adjust the brightness by the function keys but I want to make use of the auto brightness.

Settings -> Display -> Adjust brightness automatically setting.
