High-speed LocalTalk replacements

I recall that there were a number of LocalTalk replacements, circa
86-89, that used clocks internal in the adaptors to allow higher
speeds than LocalTalk/PhoneNet.

I'd like to mention these in the
Wikipedia article on AppleTalk, but I can no longer recall the name of
them. I seem to remember that one was as fast at 1 Mbps, and another
that was made by a relatively well-known brand (SUN?)

Any bells running out there?

I know a place I worked back in '91-'92 used what I believe was a Sun LocalTalk router that up-clocked to 1-2 Mbps. Also note that PhoneNet was by far the most common physical cabling scheme, and I don't recall a single PhoneNet accelerator, only 3-pin-serial accelerators.

I used to use Tops software and their cards in PC's to allow us to network Macs and PCs and have PC's print to our Laserwriter in Postscript back in the mid to late 80s. I think they ran faster than AppleTalk.

TOPS was later acquired by SUN. I have a box full of the stuff in storage!

Is that off-topic?

No, I believe this is the product I was thinking of.

If that box is easy to get to, do you think there's a photo possibility and/or manuals you might be able to get to?
