Does anyone use the Logitech M570 trackball?

When I got my MBP, I got a magic trackpad to go with it. It works great and I love the gestures. The problem is that it really seems to aggravate my carpal tunnel tendencies much more than I expected it to.

I used a MSFT optical trackball for years and years on my PC at the recommendation of our company's ergonomic specialist, and it always seemed to be comfortable for me. It was mostly typing itself that would cause problems with heavy workloads, not the trackball.

So I'd like to see if there is a suitable trackball unit that I can use with my Mac. The Logitech M570 is the only current production trackball that is designed to be used with your thumb. Logitech offers Mac drivers for it, so I'm wondering if anyone is using one? Can you configure the extra buttons to map to gestures?

Thanks

Just adding that right now I have the old MSFT trackball right next to the magic trackpad and jump back and forth between the two depending on what I'm doing, but this is obviously not optimal...

I use the M570 Trackball and I love it. The batteries last for a long time, and the grip is very comfortable.

I use the mouse with Steermouse, allows the buttons to be configured for expose, etc. I'm not sure about the logitech built in drivers.
