Thanks very much, all. Excellent advice.

Going to sleep on it but tentative plan for tomorrow is:

  • 3.2GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
  • 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
  • 1TB Fusion Drive
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5
which comes in at £2,019.

I am thinking of getting the same specs. Any upgrade on top of that will give extremely marginal benefits (for games).

Exactly what I ordered this morning.

Picked up a few £25 iTunes cards for £20 each on offer at hmv for a few games too..

Can't wait

Also the one I'll be going for to replace my 2006 24" (which breathed its last just over two years ago, when the Nvidia 7600 GT melted).
