iTunes 11 and huge libraries?

How is itunes 11 handling large libraries of music? I have a very large library and kinda scared to make the jump with all the issues reported. Anyone else make the jump with over 100k of songs?

I have over 4,128 items, 11.2 days, 91.82 GB worth of lossless music in my iTunes and did make the upgrade to iTunes 11. I will not lie, I despised the upgrade at first, but I enjoy it now. All seems well and plays perfectly fine. I will advise you to make sure most of your music is backed up before you do the upgrade.

I also have a huge library over 100k songs and iTunes 11 is very, very slow. Anytime I try and edit information it nearly freezes, using the search bar freezes the program for 20-30 seconds often, and switching between views does the same. I'm currently looking for an alternative. Any suggestions?

I've used itunes for so long not even sure what's out there. Sounds like it might be time to start searching!

There are many options. Audirvana is one I use currently for music playback.

Audirvana costs 50 bucks and the free version doesn't work on 10.8.2...

iTunes 11, handles my ~160GB library fine, about 16k songs, with only 3k of them lossless, most of them are 256kbps mp3's

mine works very snappily on 24k songs. tbh though the first thing i did with itunes 11 was delete my whole music collection, freeing up the space on my hard drive, and i stream everything from icloud. i might eventually download the more regularly played stuff but at the minute im happy with having it all on tinternet.

I don't know about 100k libraries, but give Enqueue a try. It's blissfully fast on my library of approximately 45k.
