Will my ATT iPhone 5 unlocked work in all major cities overseas

I am pretty sure it can but I need to make sure.

I am planning on going on a 6 month hiatus.

All I am going to take is my Amex, iPhone 5, and I have access to deals on plane fare to travel between cities.

I would like to stay in nice hotels and enjoy NYC, Boston, Miami, LA, Shanghai, London, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Paris.

My iPhone 5 is unlocked and if that's all I need to do, if I also have my Amex with me, I should be set!

It will work for call, texts, data, but no LTE or 3G with frequencies that don't match.
Picture messaging also might not work.

And you'll have to hack up the sim cards you buy from those countries unless they have a nano sim you can just pop in

No intent to take you off topic, but make sure you have the VISA that meets your travel needs in China. Depending on the order and other stops you might need a multiple entry VISA.

Amex sucks in china and paris! Best credit card would be visa or master card!
