21.5" Boot Time
Has anyone measured the boot time on their new 21.5" iMac with an HDD? I'd like to measure mine when it gets here and see kind of time I'm saving with the Fusion drive.

Yes.. It's fine with me. I have a MacBook Pro with ssd that boots much faster. I was thinking I couldn't live without Fusion drive in this iMac but honestly for what I do it works great

Considering my 2012 Air boots in 8 seconds, I couldn't deal with 45 seconds or more.

My 2008 MBP takes several minutes. I'm surprised the new iMacs are still 45 seconds though. I expected faster.
Also, I didn't know any of the Fusion Drive models had already shipped. Thanks for the data points. If I can really save 30 seconds each time it boots up, that's nice. |

yes, the 450 premium bothers me as well, but the other part of me saw beachballs when I opened an iPhoto album while playing with the new iMac in the store...

Don't boot the desktop very much.
Usually it just wakes from sleep and its just on. |

Boot times are not really going to be an issue as its advisable (even Apple recommend this) to sleep a Mac, rather than shut it down everytime you have finished using it. Waking it up from sleep takes seconds from what I've seen.
