Advice please: syncing problem between Macbook Pro and iPhone

I have a difficult problem: I am only partly able to sync between my iOS and OSX iTunes account.
Music bought on iPhone or Macbook normally of each iTunes, however, new play lists do not appear , nor does features as last played, amount played or if I have added songs to an existing play list. I tried to sync it via the wifi and via a direct cable between the two.
They have the same iTunes log in details.

Any help??
