Hi everyone,

A while ago I obtained a 1984 Macintosh retail poster that was autographed by Steve Jobs. The original owner was an Apple engineer who personally worked with Jobs and had the poster hanging in their office at Apple.

The provenance is very good on this item, including a statement from the original owner describing their former position at Apple, and the circumstances and date that they got the poster signed.

I thought it would be great to have the signature professionally authenticated to get an official certificate to accompany it, and recently brought it to PSA/DNA (a top autograph authentication service) but alas they were not able to render an opinion on it either way. Not sure if this was due to lack of familiarity on their part, or if there aren't enough bona fide exemplars of the signature out there for comparison...?

Anyhow, has anyone here ever had a Jobs autograph authenticated by a third party service, and if so who did you use?

Much thanks,
Howie

Or, better yet, Pawn Stars... ;)

How the episode will go:

Pawn Stars: I have a guy that specializes in vintage posters signed by Steve Jobs. I'm going to call him down here.

Specialist: The poster is worth $5,000.

Pawn Stars: I can't have this sitting on my shelves, and the market for Apple posters signed by Steve Jobs is a niche. I'll give you $200 and a free autograph on your receipt.

Seller (to the camera): Well, I sold it for less than I wanted, but I still got a good deal.

Pawn Stars: Hey, go put a $10,000 sticker on that poster.

Chum! But seriously, they'd be on it in a heartbeat.
