I have a 20 inch 07 iMac with a weak 2.0 intel core 2 duo and a radeon HD 2400XT. I want more frames per seine on team fortress since I'm getting into a competitive team I need as much fps I can squeeze out of my Mac. Currently using a config to make the game look ugly and it nets me an average 70 fps with highs of 150 and lows of 55. Any more tips? Can include general Mac optimization or source engine tweaks.

Seeing the iMac has a screen with a refresh rate of 60HZ it will never display anything over 60 FPS anyways.

Exactly this. Anything over 60fps is moot unless you're using an external display.

I play competitively too, even on my old iMac I would only get 40-60fps. Still kicked arse in tournament play. Used to be rank 4 out of ~25,000 on one server. *shrugs*

Thanks guys but I just love that smooth mouse feel and I'm OCD about frame rates. Can't get a New PC until next year so any tips on improving fps?

Being OCD doesn't matter. Turn off the frame rate counter and you won't be able to tell.

Run it under Windows, other than that there's nothing you can do.
