Thanks for the feedback, glad you are enjoying the game, here are a few answers to your points to give you some background.
May I just say that my PS3 controller has been working great with Bioshock!
Just some feedback...
- I'm not sure why the option in Bioshock says "enable xbox 360 gamepad" ~ i get it that it's probably the most common, but it's confusing.
The PC only supports the 360 pad and the menu system is hard coded and stores in a binary format inside a pre built data pack, it was not possible to over-ride it without risking unwanted side effects.
We do support about 100+ more gamepads than the PC version so that's something
- I wish I didn't have to re-enable it every time.
You shouldn't have to however as the PS3 pad is bluetooth sometimes Apple's BT stack will give the device a different ID to the game meaning the game cannot tell it is the same pad as before so cannot keep it enabled in game. 99% of pads it does remember the setting. As this is an OS issue it's hard to fix inside the game. Newer games we do have a few more tricks to attempt this but working around OS issues can be tricky.
- I wish the buttons on the screen were ps3 buttons
That would require access to the PS3 assets and rebuilding the data which as mentioned above is not feasible for one gamepad.
My complaints are MINOR, though. I'm totally loving the game!
My major complaint is that my MacBook Pro gets HOT when playing games... and so if i'm using KB + mouse, it feels like my fingers are on a furnace. The PS3 controller is great - I play on the airplane all the time!
I'd contact Apple about that if not us
The game uses the CPU and GPU to the maximum and that causes the Mac to heat up, it's to be expected if you have a game that has been optimised for the Mac and uses multi threading to use all the cores available.
