iTunes Extras vs Theatrical/Directors cuts

is there a way to add alternate versions of one film, that can be made a part of one file in itunes?

for example, i don't want 2 separate versions of the same film showing up in itunes separately.

doesn't itunes extras combine multiple 'goodies' from one film to one file? can i manipulate itunes to do something similar but make 2 films one file? with an option to play the alternate version inside the film? (referring to iTunes 11 here)

hmm, i know nothing on code, i was hoping someone here might know with tools like subler or metaz.

You could do the easy way out of doing HD/SD tags and just remember which one is which - I think though the runtime has to match exactly in the tags at least

that can work, i tested it, its not the most ideal since the only way to play the sd 'version' in this itunes 11, is to right click the video and click play sd. wouldve been a nice option inside the iOS drop view.
