If the 3GS and the 4S showed anything, nothing in terms of the design change. Hardware upgrade, 13 mp camera, A7 chip, IOS 7.etc

They should add some thickness to it for the battery, which we all know is a joke and Apple won't admit it. I shouldn't need a Mophie case or need to keep it plugged in while in the car or at work. The battery life just isn't there. Love the phone, hate the battery.

iPhone 4S 8MP camera-->iPhone 5 8MP camera. iPhone 5 thinner with improved camera.

Ipso facto-->iPhone 5S improved camera=thicker than iPhone 5.

Yes, I see how OP came to that conclusion.
