Lion Server webdav login blues

I have a mac mini running Lion Server. Previously I could WebDav sign in with Pages on a iPad. But... no it's broken. The accounts on the server work I can VPN in and get access to folders via AFP. But not through WebDav.

I get a "An error occurred. Please try again" message back

Any suggestions as to where to start troubleshooting?
