beachball(s)
love how each time it's opened on any machine, I am greeted with the beach ball for at least 5-10 seconds.
I am liking it less and less.

Just as useful with a slightly better interface than iTunes 10.

I've decided that I hate iTunes more than anyone on this plane.

I actually like iTunes 11. The way the album is presented, it never stalls on my computers (though they have 8GB/ 8GB/ 16GB of RAM).. No problem whatsoever. I don't get what is so bad about it.

I like what iTunes can do for me but there is something flawed with it.
I will have Photoshop and Illustrator open and working with huge files and those apps just breeze through their tasks. iTunes takes ages just to switch screens/views. There are also functions I wish iTunes had (eg: removing all dead links) and others I can't think of... Meh... whatever though.. I rarely use it to play music and I sync over WiFi so i never even have to look at the thing..

I've gotten used to it, but am often surprised by what it does... Like recently it blew up some music I had on one of my macs, and now there are copies of most of my playlists. Some seem to be exact copies, and some are from the re-import of the tunes due to the iTunes database rebuild. It's fun... NOT!
Oh, and resynching my idevices is fun too as the database has changed, so there is no record of what device had what playlist synched to it. Well, some I had named playlists for the device, but others I hadn't. Frustrating isn't the word... Is there a way to tell what playlist an idevice was synched to in the case of a database rebuild? Some way to tell on the idevice before it is synched? |

Can anyone offer an explanation on why this happens? Some albums list the artist underneath each track while other albums by the same artist do not. I have clicked get info on each track from both these albums and they all have the same number of fields entered. I could understand the difference if one album had extra info entered in a field but as it stands, I cannot find any difference.

I also hate itunes 11, I just made the switch and it sucks. I have a very big library and 80% of the time when I search for an album it freezes and shuts down. I have to restart iTunes almost every time, never had this problem with the older iTunes!

Some help please.
I have the late 2012 3TB fusion iMac and a 3TB TimeCapsule with 68000 songs sitting in iTunes. Every 12 hours or so I check my preferences and it has moved my library back to the iMac fusion drive.
It means having to reset preferences over and over again.. Any ideas would be gratefully received. thanks. |
