So has any one got this to work with 10.7.5 on a Mac Pro 1,1 ? I have the Sapphire 7950 Mac edition. I installed the drivers but had to boot into safe mode and remove the ATIX4000 kexts to get into OSX seeing as how with the faulty drivers break everything. After reading this thread I am not sure if there is a solution or not.

Hello i would like to use this card in Snow Leopard; do i need to run another GraphicCard inside my MacPro 4.1 (upgraded to 5.1 Hexa) to get this accomplished? Atm i only have a Gt 120 installed. Really would like to upgrade but also continue using SnowLeopard . thanks

Best snow leopard GPU's are HD5870 and HD6870. Even HD6xxx won't work before 10.6.3 or 10.6.4 update (don't remember which one, but you can easily google it).

I'd like to buy a R9 280 for my MacPro 1.1 running Lion 10.7.5 . Is this still a good idea?
Looking forward flashing the card to get Bootscreens and minimum 3 port. Would these drivers work also for a Gigabyte Windforce r9 280 or are they exclusive for the 7950 HD.

Thank you very much

EDIT: i understand that the Lion 10.7.5 is 32bit on my MP1.1 so it would have problems with the driver package from MacVidCards? To get 7950 HD or R9 280 running properly i would need to boot Lion 10.7.5 in 64Bit mode with a modified kernel as with the TiAmo for 10.8, 10.9 one?

Best solution is to run 10.8 or 10.9 using brilliant tiamo's boot.efi.

Hello , can i run also 10.7.5 with the TiAmo Bootloader to get Lion 10.7.5 in 64Bit for compatibility with 7950 / R9 280?
