Space on a 6TB and 8TB HD
Could someone tell me about how many full 2 hour movies could someone fit on a 6TB drive, and around how many on an 8TB drive?

Depends on the resolution (SD or HD) and what compression they use (H.264 or another MPEG-4 variant or even a less compressive codec).
Anyway, since an MPEG-4 SD movie normally takes less than 1 GB away and an MPEG-4 HD movie normally takes 5 GB away, you can get up to 6.000 or 8.000 SD movies onto a 6 or 8 TB HDD and 1.200 or 1.600 HD movies onto a 6 or 8 TB HDD.

So only about 1600 HD movies onto an 8TB? That is somewhat a little disapointing as I had thought it'd be a lot more. The movie content would be all HD from iTunes.

Are you being sarcastic? 1600 movies is a lot.

That is only 192.000 minutes or 133 days of entertainment. If one only watches 9 hours of movies on a daily basis, those 1.600 movies are finished within a year. What then?

Well being I'm trying to play catch up with a lot of movies I still have not yet seen I guess the 1600 wouldn't come that fast, or at least not quite yet. But I do plan on having a somewhat large movie collection in my soon future. I'm also looking to plan ahead with full proofing my collection so that space will always be on hand. I guess an 8TB is the start and maybe another 8 or 6 TB down the road.
