Random Excel Files showing up

I have two excel files that have just randomly shown up on my desktop
"8FB65900" and
"B4B73400"
I am not able to move them to the trash, even when using the option key.
The message I get is "item can't be moved to the trash because it can't be deleted"
I am also not able to "Get Information" on this file.
I noticed the second one show up after I tried moving the first file to another folder. When I was prompted to "Authenticate" that file and I selected that option, the second file appeared on my desktop.

Mystery!!

Any ideas
