I just switched from AT&T to T-Mobile a week ago. Overall pretty happy so far! The main thing I notice is a lot of bouncing, when indoors at home and work, between 4-5 "dots" of 4G and 1-2 "dots" of LTE. I think this is leading to more battery drain than I recall when I had AT&T (same exact unlocked iPhone 5s). Is it better to turn LTE off when indoors?

When outdoors or testing via SpeedTest and ROOTMetrics at a stoplight or something, the LTE is simply amazing when I have 3-5 "dots"! My best is 38 down and 16 up.

Here are a couple of tests I just ran (at my house, exact same location at my desk). The 4G was with the LTE off in the iPhone settings. The LTE was with it toggled on. In this case, it seems that the 5 dots of 4G was better than the 1 dot of LTE.

That's the way it is in my apartment.

On "4G" I get 5 bars and around 23 down. On LTE I get 3 bars and around 8 mbps down.

Someone remind to post my T-Mobile EDGE screen shot later. I am fortunate enough to only receive EDGE by T-Mobile in my area. Damn that AT&T with their -90dbm LTE signal.

I would rather have LTE at 8mbps and 10ms latency

Than

4G/HSPA+ 23 down with 200+ latency

I almost switched to T-Mobile, but when I couldn't sustain a conversation with someone on T-Mobile when they were in a shopping mall I frequent, where I get perfect coverage on AT&T, I decided not to.

It's worth paying more money for service that is more reliable.

I hope T-Mobile gets its act together because AT&T could really use real competition.

Got this at the Houston airport (IAH) last week. Also had LTE all up and down the Colorado Front Range. I was impressed when I had LTE in Larkspur, a town whose population increases by orders of magnitude when the renesance festival is going on, which it wasn't when I was passing through.

I signed up for the test drive. Here is a side-by-side at exact same location at same time. VZW vs. TMo. I am in South Jersey near the coast.

I know this thread is for T-mobile speed test but.....

ATT (near San Francisco) and their blazing fast LTE.
No where near my data cap either.

Not sure how good T-mobile is in bay area but it's gotta be better than what I got now.

In SF tmobile should be rocking, I would suggest testing the tmobile :) I'm sure it's great

I plan to return to iPhone with the iPhone 6 and will switch from Sprint to T-Mobile.

Now, what are the chances of iPhone 6 to have the new LTE band 12 700MHZ support for tmobile? That's crucial in my decision.
