Hi,

I have this little thing I want to do. I happen to own two spare Core Duo MacBooks. One black, one white.

Specs: 1.83CD 2GB RAM MacBook White & 2Ghz CD 2GB RAM BlackBook.

I've seen this images about making a so-called "panda" MacBook.

I already have two Vertex 3 SSD's lying around, so they will be the absolute best they can be. Quick as hell for daily things.

--

Both machines are in perfect working order. The BlackBook even is in pristine condition. The white MacBook happens to have some wear and tear.

BUT, both have new topcases on them! So they look brand new for the most part..

What is your opinion about how I should mix them up? BlackBook with white top case whatever. Be creative. I've seen various pics on the web. The parts are all in pristine condition. So it will look awesome.

You'll be getting things like this, for instance.
These are not my pictures. They are from the ''Hybrid MacBook'' on Flickr.

Personally I think doing the opposite of those pictures would look cool. Black keys and frame, white top case and bezel and, if possible, black trackpad. Just my opinion though.

This is epic! Especially since it looks as though both models are in good condition! Try swapping the keys, you can always put it back if you don't like it. I want to see the Apple Store employee's face if you ever had to take one of those to the genius bar.

Both models are in good condition. The white one only shows some wear and tear on the bottom, but that's it!. Topcases are new and they look epic!

Both have 2GB Ram and are running Snow Leopard with an 60GB Vertex 3 SSD. Lightingfast.

I won't be swapping the keys as some are rather hard to do. Don't want to mess that up.

I know the Black MacBook with the white is absolutely gorgeous, but someone offered me an early 2009 (Nvidia 9400m) MacBook white (non-unibody).

She just wants to trade this one for that one because she loves the design of this one and with the SSD is more than fast enough for her needs.

That's pretty cool!:D. I will get the black stuff of the other white 1,1 MacBook I have and make that '09 MacBook the ultimate.

I want to see the Apple Store employee's face if you ever had to take one of those to the genius bar.

It's funny you mentioned that. I took my late 07 macbook, 3,1 which has a white base/ lid and a black top case and screen bezel, into the Genius bar today, to have the top case replaced today, as It started to crack above the sleep light on the right hand side. When I took out the macbook from the case, opened it up and put it on the table, The look on the employee's face was priceless, if only I took a picture. To my surprise, they checked the serial number and replaced the top case and screen bezel, with black, exactly, the way I brought it into the store.

So here it is.

My 2009 Panda MacBook. :D

Final Specs (MacBook 5,2 Early 2009):

2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB DDR2 RAM (will become 6GB)
60GB Vertex 3 SSD
Nvidia 9400M 256MB

Looks pretty freakin' gorgeous.

I had to trade my black with white 2006 MacBook Core Duo for it. Pretty good deal I'd say. Although my other 2006 white MacBook is back to normal, being white.
