Lost iTunes Playlist Songs

Not sure if anyone has experienced this previously. But, twice in the last 2 weeks, I created a playlist in iTunes to sync to my iPhone. I originally had about 350 songs, but added another 1300 or so. And each time, just a few days after creating the Playlist, it has disappeared...meaning all the songs I added to the folder are gone, just leaving the original 350 or so songs. I find it strange and rather annoying since it takes a while to add 1300 songs!!!!
