monitor issues
Hi All,
I have a macpro 4.1 (2 x 2.26 quadcores) with 32gb of ram. I am running a dell 30 in monitor (2556x1600) and a samsung 20 in monitor (1600x1200). At first I ran just the 30 inch and all was fine. Now with 2 monitors hooked up after a while about 1/2 hours the monitors act weird. I get ghosts of windows and images: any ideas? ![]()

What video card are you using?
Is its cooling fan spinning? Any dust in the fins? Could be a video card defect. Perhaps try vacuuming out the card.

there are 2 cards. Each is an NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512mb and each one runs one monitor. I'll try cleaning them out

Both cards same problem? starts at the same time? You may want to clean out the power supply too.

I will dust out everything. Funny it started after adding the 2nd monitor . I doubt it made a difference, but I added 2 more SSD drives in the optical bay at the same time.

Did you also add the second GT 120 at the same time? If so I'd suspect the power supply is getting lazy, or you have perhaps a loose connection somewhere.

the 2nd card was already installed. I will open it up and clean everything and check to see if anything is partially unseated.
