get iPhone to have rotate lock instead of mute controls?

When you double click home button and swipe left instead of having volume controls and mute button why no rotate lock? I though the older iphones had this feature as I used this feature before.

Just something Apple opted to fiddle with. We all want different toggles there. Well not "all" but many would find benefit in it.

Wait, what are we talking about here?

My iPhone 5 with 6.0.1 has a rotate lock there. What phone are you using?

It's there but not intuitive to find.

I have it on 99% of the time.

I only use the phone in landscape mode where it makes sense for me. That is pretty much limited to three things:

1) Videos

2) Games like Angry Birds (which ignore the lock anyway)

3) Camera (also ignores the lock)

Except viewing landscape photos while portrait locked is highly annoying so it's not practical to keep it on all the time.

I did have this feature in my iphone dock but now I don't know how to get it back?
