Car PSU
Hi Guys,
I'm currently in the process of instaling a carpc (raspberry pi). For the most part I've got it working, however I didn't really consider surviving engine crank. I thought the quick startup times for the pi would be fine, but it gets a bit annoying if I stop for petrol say, then have to start the car and wait 40+ seconds before I can put music back on. Now I'm not exactly what you might call an electronics expert but I feel like I can get by in many situations, so could someone explain to me what my options are here. I'd LOVE to be able to leave the car off for up to say 10 minutes without the pi losing power, but this is by no means a must. (I imagine this is difficult/expensive) The biggest issue is surviving crank. I'd be quite happy to be able to put the key in, get the pi started and then start the car, but this requires I believe a PSU to survive crank. I'd be really grateful if someone would give me a quick runthrough of my options and their relative pros/cons/costs! Thanks
