[iPad] Different Color on iPad 4 and iMac 2011

I just realized that one of my pdf books that I read the color looks different on my iMac 2011 and iPad 4.

It appears bright red color on both my iPad 3 and iPad 4, but appears dull brown on my iMac 2011.

Anyone know why? So which one shows the correct color?

I believe the iPad has more accurate colors. Can anyone correct me?

-Is iMac retina? If not that could be it.
-Maybe you downloaded an updated copy to iPad?
-The monitor's settings or specs are different.

Retina pertains to resolution, not color temperature.

I doubt the PDFs are different.

The best answer is that different LCD panels can display the same data very differently. There are countless variables, from panel supplier to end user calibration settings.

At first glance, I'd venture that your iMac needs calibrating.

The two PDFs are definitely the same.

I used the default setting in my iMac, so far everything really looked OK to me. Never had any trouble for the last 1.5 years.

This lead me to think, which color is more accurate, my iPad or iMac, is the original PDF red or brown?
