[iPad Mini] iPad mini took 2 hours to charge...

Using my ipad 3 10w charger it only took 2 hours so seems to be faster than the results people are getting with the 5w. I know their has been discussions on the devices power draw.

What is everyone else's experience and any results with the 12w?

Of course The 10w plug will charge it faster than 5w charger, it gives it more electricity. I'm sure the 12w one will be even faster.

Well there was a concern that internally the iPad would limit the charge like the iPhone on a 10w charger is the exact same speed.

It's not a given. The battery in the Mini could have been designed to draw the same power from the 12W as the 5W.

is this confirmed? will the 12w charger make a difference charging the mini!? how about the 10w?

Need to read my original post as I mentioned people questioning what power the device would draw. Sometimes devices have an internal limit which means the charger will not make any difference.

My experiences with the ipad mini so far is showing the opposite though which is really good.

I've read numerous posts stating that the Mini does charge significantly faster with the 12W. Haven't found a single post stating it charges at the same rate. This is indeed good news.

I'm going to time it tonight using my 12w charger once my battery gets down pretty low. Still currently at 28% charge so it might be awhile. Will post my results later.

Insanely Great Mac tested the 12W charger vs the regular charger, using a watt-meter.

The regular iPad could indeed draw more from the 12W, but the iPhone 5 drew only 5W.

No clue if the iPad mini would draw more...

Well I'm using a 10w charger right now on my mini. It was 6% when I plugged it in and 2 and a half hours later its at 62%. So I was wrong with my previous post, like some of you pointed out.

I can confirm that it charges faster with the 10 watt charger than with the 5 watt charger that was included in the box. About 2.5 hours to full charge, compared to 5 hours with 5 watt charger.

Here is my unscientific results. I connected to my 12w charger when my battery was at 14%. It took 2 hours and 22 mins to get to 100% charge.

14% at 9:53 pm
59% at 10:53 pm
95% at 11:53 pm
100% at 12:15 am

Apple has always done a pretty good job with charging & battery management practices. There's always the exception but it's not something I've ever felt a need to focus on.

I just charge as needed. Owning more than one tablet, is another way to assure you always have one ready to go.

Great thanks for that, not much difference with my Ioad 3 10w charger. May buy the 12w anyway as I am thinking about selling the 3.
