Price Advice: Mac Mini Mid 2011 (Dual Core i5 / 4 GB / 500 GB / AMD Graphics]

I have a mac mini 2011 (brand new + sealed in box) that I decided that I don't need (orig. got it for dad, but he didn't want it..).

Here are the important specs:

Processor
2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 with 3MB on-chip shared L3 cache (configurable to 2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i7)

Memory
4GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory (configurable to 8GB)

AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR5 memory

I know the selling price was $799 for these models since it has a dedicated graphics card, but it is about 1 1/2 years old.

I was thinking ~$650; and I plan on selling it here on MR or craigslist or ebay.
Is this a good starting price? I do want to avoid ebay because of their blood sucking fees, but I've never really done business on MR or CL before.

that $650 can be a good starting point. As you know, based in your post, this Mini model comes with a graphic card, not integrated graphics. Based in that fact and the market right now, these 2011 minis have a good demand. But for a good guidance for price, maybe you can find in the Refurb section of the Apple Store a similar spec machine and substract, say, 25% off?

I just purchased the same machine with 16gb memory and Applecare until Aug 2014 for about ~$530. Not what you wanted to hear i'm sure... but I was in the market for a while.

Sure, the discrete graphics card is nice - but also, the Intel 4000 now offers the SAME performance as the discrete card.

The 2012 Mini has USB 3.0, faster memory, a warranty, and the same if not better performance.

You want to sell me a 2011 Mini for the exact same price as a BRAND NEW 2012 Mini? That was the logic when I saw $550+ Mac Mini's on eBay. Not a chance I was going to pay that.

Maybe someone a little uneducated might pay that.

^^This, $650 is too much, I just bought the Base 2012, could have gotten the 2011 (New) for $100 less than what the OP specifies. (In Singapore)

Edit: Just checked XE, it was even cheaper $520 and I could get a 5% tax rebate at border!

you had stated in your OP about the mini sealed and new in a box, I did not seems appropiate to me treat your offer as a computer already used. Hence, my first post advice. Making an estimate/quote, I easily can put your computer in the $500-600 range, tops.
