That's 4,700,000 reports In just over 2 years. Or 250 reports per hour. Every day. Seven days a week.

That's 1,800 reports in 1:50 hours. Or 1000 an hour. That's probably the iOS beta peak.
Holy! When OS X development changed in 2010 to mirror iOS development, lowering membership to $99/yr from $499 and $3499, it seemed a great idea to bring in more MAS development. I assumed most [new developers] wouldn't bother bug reporting, instead focusing on their app's.

Apple drops price, changes name of Mac Developer Program

I don't miss the membership prices, but I miss OS X development pre-10.7; biweekly/weekly beta's that required a clean install to ensure third party app's, etc weren't "outliers" in debugging. Plus beta's seemed to offer a few surprises along the way (loved 10.5's "iChat" feature "Answering Machine" for video away and recorded messages, should use it for iMessages, great for the deaf).
