I use my new imac with my wife and everytime i try to shut down the mac and she has not logged off i get the box asking for a username and password.
So i put in my name and password but all i get is "I must enter a valid user name" ??
When i set the mac up i made sure i was an admin so what am i doing wrong.

Thanks

You have to enter the login details of the other still logged in account.

Example: You have two accounts, "account1" with password "dis" and "account2" with password "das" and both accounts are logged in to and you are currently in "account1" and want to shut down, you have to enter "account2" and "das" in the window telling you, there is still someone logged in and it needs to be logged out before shutting down.
