Can those of you who bought the ViewHD HDMI2AV converter on Amazon confirm the model #? I just purchased the VHD-168 according to the link in this thread, but it does not work with my iphone 4S and the apple hdmi adapter on NTSC setting. I have seen a video on youtube of a guy using a similar model (VHD-MH2A) and his iphone 4S + apple hdmi adapter is working as advertised.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a iphone 4S on 6.1.2 jailbroken. Also the VHD-168 adapter does work. I confirmed it by testing my uverse cable box to a RCA input on my tv. Additionally I tested my iphone 4S + apple hdmi adapter direct via HDMI to my tv and it works normally.
Thanks,

I ordered an HDMI cable, an RCA cable, a lightning to HDMI cable (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD...apter?fnode=45) and a hdmi2av converter (http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Univers.../dp/B0080KN18K)

I received the cables 2 weeks ago and received the hdmi2av converter today and I can report it works

The hdmi2av converter needs to be powered by usb because the iPhone does not provide enough power through hdmi, but I also bough a 12v usb charger for my car.
Hi bro, and thanks for figuring that out. I was just wondering, what kind of function do you have with that. Is it just screen mirroring or can you control whats on the phone from the screen? Also do you have to change set ups to get your music info to populate or any other things? Thanks again and big ups!!

Hi!

It mirrors the screen if the app you are using does not provide any special functions for external displays (which most don't)

Got sick of waiting...

For some reason the 2014 Toyota Sienna still doesn't come with a HDMI port, so I had to make a converter to get video from my iPhone 5S to the rear entertainment system for the kids. I used these products:
Lightning to HDMI Adapter from Apple
HDMI Cable, Lightning to USB Cable
USB Power Hub (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
HDMI to RCA Adapter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Electric Tape
Legos I stole from my son

This is version 1.0, thinking of going kickstarter with it, lol.

I just went through this exercise this weekend. The ViewHD HDMI-to-RCA adapter plus Apple Lightning to HDMI combination worked great.

If you are asking me... I already had a HDMI cable and RCA cable lying around. The Powered USB hub (to power the HDMI adapter and keep the iphone charged) was $25. The HDMI to RCA adapter was $22, and the Lightning to HDMI cable was $39. I took the legos from my son so those were also free.

So, $85? Plus a couple bucks in glue if I want to make the Lego box indestructible.

I was a little limited on the USB Hub as the Sienna required a very small plug based on where the power went, A wall wart type USB plug would not have worked. Even the Apple USB charger was a little big.

Just wanted to say thanks for giving such a great example. I followed it, but mine isn't as clean.
